Application for new 50 bed hotel extension and indoor gym approved in countryside (North Oxfordshire) – 2014
Davis Planning Ltd have now secured a major expansion of a hotel and leisure complex in Cherwell District by demonstrating through a ‘sequential test’ that there were no other available sites in the District that could reasonably accommodate the four star hotel.
Application to remove an agricultural/equestrian occupancy condition (Wokingham) – summer 2014
Following an appeal to the Secretary of State, Davis Planning Ltd overturned a Council decision to refuse permission to remove an occupancy condition. A successful case was put at an appeal hearing to an Inspector where it was demonstrated that the land could not be used to run a viable equestrian business. The successful outcome was achieved despite vociferous local opposition.
Application to expand a garden centre with new retail floorspace (Berkshire) – December 2014
Davis Planning Ltd have now successfully negotiated an expansion of retail activity at an established garden centre in Berkshire.
Application for replacement dwelling granted in Green Belt (Surrey)– Summer 2013
Planning permission was secured for a significant increase in size for a replacement dwelling (Chobham). The Council initially refused to include existing outbuildings as part of the existing dwelling. However, through taking a strategic approach to the site and by providing appeal decisions to support the case, Davis Planning Ltd convinced the planners that the outbuildings were integral to the main dwelling thereby significantly increasing the floor space for the new property.
Appeal allowed for infill plot on Crown Estate (Oxhsott, Surrey) – Spring 2013
Following the Council’s decision to refuse permission for a large residential property in a low density area, the developer employed Davis Planning Ltd to appeal against the decision to the Planning Inspectorate. By analysing the character of the area and putting forward strong policy based arguments, this Practice successfully convinced the appeal Inspector that the land was suitable for new residential development.
